What is Tomato toner & its key ingredients?

Tomato Toner is a liquid substance that looks like water, but it is a lot more. It is packed with amazing natural plant-based ingredients such as Green Tea extract, White tomato extract, Enteromorpha Compressa Extract, Silybum Marianum Fruit Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Extract. These ingredients have antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents, all of which help repair, rejuvenate, and revive your skin. Tomato toner is specially designed to target skin sensitivity due to mechanical aggressions. It is a blend of actives from Enteromorpha Compressa, a seaweed rich in Marine Penta saccharides, Tulsi, a sacred plant with calming properties and antioxidant activity.

Benefits of using Tomato toner

1. It helps get rid of every last bit of makeup

Sometimes despite double cleansing, bits of makeup, dust, dirt, and other impurities may be left behind. But this is where toner steps up and helps get rid of every last bit of that gunk. They leave your skin thoroughly cleansed and ready for the rest of skincare products to follow. Tomato Toner with a delicate blend of natural plants ingredients softens and nourishes the skin.

2. Restricts excess sebum production

Toner is an excellent product for people with oily, acne-prone skin. When you swipe your face with a cotton pad soaked in toner, it helps remove traces of excess oil that often clog pores and lead to acne. People with acne-prone skin should use Calming and Purifying Fluid with gentle tea tree oil essential, as this kills bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Tomato toner suitable for all skin types include also oily and sensitive skin which helps restrict excess sebum production, reduces shine, and gives your face a beautiful matte texture.

3. Helps balance your skin’s pH levels

The main benefit of using a Tomato toner is that it helps balance the pH levels of your skin. Post cleansing, your skin tends to feel dry, stretchy, and itchy. This happens because the skin’s pH levels (which should be 5.5) get thrown off balance. Using a toner within a minute of washing your face helps balance the pH levels and reduce dryness or even oiliness. What does this mean? A clear and glowing complexion, of course! You are highly recommended to use gentle cleanser to prevent dryness after face wash too!

4. Helps tighten your pores

This is one benefit of using a Tomato toner that is not really possible to eliminate pores, but a toner helps keep them clean, shrinks them to a certain extent and this refines your skin texture, making your pores look smaller and tighter with regular use.

5. Forms a protective layer

Apart from all the above-mentioned benefits of toner, it adds a layer of protection, helps to soothe sensitivity and redness while moisture skin. After cleansing, the cell gaps in your skin tend to increase, but a toner helps to tighten that gap. This prevents environmental aggressors such as dust, dirt, pollution, and other impurities from entering your skin. Additionally, using a good quality toner can also prevent damage from chlorine and other minerals present in water from making their way into your skin.

When is the best time to use a toner?

You need to use a toner right after cleansing and before your serums, face oils, and moisturizers. If you are planning to double cleanse or exfoliate your skin, then a toner comes right after both these steps, but before you apply any of your skin repairing or hydrating products. This is because cleansing helps get rid of all the surface impurities that may be clogging your skin, and the toner acts as a catalyst to ensure that the skincare products applied next penetrate your skin and deliver results. But the benefits of using a toner don’t end here. Following is a list of all the reasons why you need to start using a toner today.

How to use a Tomato toner step-by-step

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use a Tomato toner so that you achieve all the benefits we’ve mentioned above.

Step 01: Start by washing your face using a cleanser or a foam-based one. Gently massage the cleanser into your skin to remove makeup, impurities, and dirt. Rinse with water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.

Step 02: Put the toner on a cotton pad. Once it feels damp, but not overly soaked, you can use it. Now you have put toner, it is time to spread it over the face and neck. Alternatively, if you want to reduce waste and not use a cotton pad, simply take a few drops on the palm of your hand and press it into your skin.

Step 03: You can leave the cotton pad with toner on your face (put on the areas which have larger pores like cheek and nose) for one minute or two to get absorbed by the skin. Once the toner sinks in, you can apply other products.

Step: 04 Finish with serum and moisturizer or any other treatment products. For example, you can apply the serum.

Note: Use a toner twice a day – morning and night, right after cleansing. Remember to use a toner within a minute of cleansing for best results. Always follow up your toner application with the rest of your skincare products such as serum and moisturizer.
